If you don't want to visit Schloss Laufen via the fee-based route, you can take the glass elevator to descend: Oops... the panes are so clean and clear that you think you're standing outdoors... but at least the floor is not glass. It takes some getting used to and is surprising, but the magnificent view makes up for it.
