This abbey complex consists of the church of Santa Maria di Pulcherada, with its 13th-century bell tower, and the nearby church of the Madonnina. The two churches date back to the 10th-11th centuries, but have been heavily remodeled over time: very little of the original structure remains, and they currently have an 18th-century appearance—which is nevertheless very beautiful. The complex is located in the oldest part of San Mauro Torinese, just above the provincial road to Chivasso, but already in a maze of narrow streets; it's difficult to see the entire façade of the main church due to the narrowness of the street. A pedestrian walkway surrounds the complex on two sides, allowing you to walk around and enjoy the apses of the two churches—and some details like the portals and colored-paneled windows. It takes a special search to find it, but it's worth the detour.
