Beautiful place! Biking towards Prekal is really fun. It's a shame that the beautiful gravel road is currently being widened so that it will be paved later

The path doesn't exist, or no longer exists! It continues upwards over the stones in the riverbed. It seems fun, adventurous, and exciting at first. But it ends with you having to fight your way up the steep slope through dense vegetation and loose scree. In my opinion, very dangerous!

There is a path marked here, but it is probably overgrown or simply not there. You have to find your own way over the stones. That means it's quite a slog.

This part is far from good. there is no trail, there are steep places with small stones that drop under your weight. the worst part is that this path is full of Common European Vipers. see the photo, was sitting in the middle of 'path'. Avoid.

Lake Koman (Albanian: Liqeni i Komanit) is a reservoir on the Drin River in northern Albania. Lake Koman is surrounded by dense forested hills, vertical slopes, deep gorges, and a narrow valley, completely taken up by the river. Besides the Drin, it is fed by the Shala and Valbona Rivers. The lake stretches in an area of 34 km2, its width being 400 m. The narrowest gorge, which is surrounded by vertical canyon walls, is more than 50 m wide. The reservoir was constructed between 1979 and 1988 near the village of Koman with a height of 115 m

Even in summer the waterfall is pretty big

I was able to tackle that road with a gravel bike (47 mm tires). The weight of the bicycle and the extra luggage was about 22kg. On the way up I had to push the bike around 5 times because the rocks were too big (never more than 2 minutes). It definitely demands a good level of fitness and agility to get over it but is definitely doable. I surely recommend a hardtail bike but a gravel can do the job if you're brave enough. Landscapes were so beautiful it is worth it! The descent was quite steep and sometimes technical aswell.

A great route to avoid the tarmac route to/from Theth. There is about 50km of rough stone road used only by a few locals and the odd tourist. I under-estimated the time it would take to travel this route. Riding a hardtail MTB (with luggage) the terrain was at times very challenging and even travelling downhill progress was at times slow. A MTB is definitely the best choice of bike for this road. You'd get there eventually on a gravel bike but it would be very slow going and not much fun.
