We only knew Plau am See by name before and stopped there for two days on our way back from the Baltic Sea. It's a very beautiful area. The cycling and hiking trails are well-developed. Of course, it's not very busy in February. Perfect for relaxing hikes! 👍

The village church in Sietow, located in the Sietow-Dorf district of the Mecklenburg Lake District, is an impressive early Gothic building, dating back to the 13th century. The rectangular brick building with a recessed fieldstone chancel and a striking west tower combining fieldstone and half-timbering bears witness to the church's long history. Inside, the nave is simple but boasts remarkable furnishings, including a neo-Gothic altar from 1873, a painting by Karl Christian Andreae, and an organ by the organ builder Friedrich Hermann Lütkemüller from 1866. After several periods of damage and restoration, the church was recently extensively renovated and is now known as the "Sietow Story Church."
