You discover our impressive nature with its diverse habitats most intensively on foot. For this purpose, a well-marked hiking trail network is available to you. On around 350 kilometers, you can explore the national park. Basically, there are two different categories of paths. On circular paths, which are marked by an animal symbol on a yellow background, you always return to the starting point. Path sections, marked by plant symbols on a white background, lead from A to B. In addition, there are a few long-distance hiking trails, such as the certified quality hiking trail Goldsteig or the European long-distance hiking trail E6, with special symbols. This collection offers you a selection of extended, partly challenging hikes to nature highlights in the Bavarian Forest National Park. If you still haven't had enough of the wild national park nature, you will find our short adventure paths at particularly interesting places. These include the Seelensteig and the Aufichtenwaldsteg below the Rachel, the Nature Experience Path in the forest play area, the Windwurf Experience Path at the Falkenstein, the Schachten and Filze Experience Path in Frauenau or the Experience Path through the primeval forest area Hans-Watzlik-Hain at Zwieslerwaldhaus. Please note when hiking in the national park:
Always ensure good equipment: sturdy footwear, drinks, first-aid kit, bad weather clothing and mobile phone not forgotten. This serves your own safety.
Please be aware of dangers from falling trees and deadwood. The use of the paths is at your own risk. Please leave the forest for your own protection in strong winds.
Please stay on the marked paths. This serves to protect sensitive animal and plant species.

On this leisurely tour in the monastery felt and large felt complex, it is partly on boardwalks through bogs and forest. We walk in the footsteps of the adder, which is at home here. Along the Great Ohe we continue to the felt forest, which looks very different from most national park forests. Peat pines
