Spring is always a special time in the Teutoburg Forest. Slowly, nature comes back to life – the birds are singing, the first flowers cover the forest floor and trees grow their fresh leaves.
It’s the perfect time to discover the region on a hike and enjoy spring to the fullest. We’ve put together five varied circular hikes for you here – from shorter family Tours to longer adventures.

You don't have to venture far from town to see spring’s influence on some beautiful natural landscapes. The PaderWanderung takes you along the babbling Pader through picturesque meadows and beautiful beech forests. In Bielefeld, you climb the Sparrenburg tower with its panoramic views before marvelling at the fragrant flowers in the Botanical Garden. The beautiful parks at Johannisberg round off your adventure.

The two hikes around Bad Driburg take you through extensive forests and lush meadows. You discover old castle ruins and historic buildings. In the forest, you smell the wild garlic and hear woodpeckers tapping, while in the meadows the bees will be busy pollinating the first flowers. On the way, you get wonderful views of Bad Driburg. Hikers with more stamina can even hike to the magnificent moated castle of Heerse in Neuenheerse on the Eggeweg quality trail.

All your senses will be stimulated on the Kneipp Energy Trail near Bad Wünnenberg, while you get to know the five pillars of Kneipp's teachings. The Kneipp baths at the Kneipp Oasis are refreshingly cool, and the kilometre-long barefoot path is a wonderful experience for young and old. At the end of your adventure, the sun loungers invite you to enjoy the warming rays of the spring sun in peace and quiet.

You can reach all Tours comfortably by bus and train, as well as by car. On the way, you find places to stop for a delicious bite to eat or you can pack a lunch and enjoy the sunny spring with a picnic in nature.
