The Sachsenring takes you over small climbs, through forests and meadows and along historical places around the 730-year-old town of Bad Driburg, whose spa facilities have been privately owned by the Counts of Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff for 240 years. On this hike you take on the natural hiking trail completely and spend a day in the footsteps of important personalities of the famous moor and mineral spa.The start and end point of the 19 kilometer tour is the outdoor swimming pool in Bad Driburg. From there, the Sachsenring first leads you past the wildlife enclosure to the mausoleum of the von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff family. On the way you always move in the middle of the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge nature park.Along the Hoppenberg you continue to the northern edge of the spa and you can always enjoy beautiful views of Bad Driburg. In the west you pass the Bollerwienquelle, which feeds an idyllic Kneipp basin in the middle of the forest and offers itself as a break. In the further course of the route, a short detour takes you to the 18-meter-high Kaiser-Karls-Turm with a fantastic view. In addition, there is a small discovery tour of the Iburg castle ruins nearby. In the south you then cross several small streams and get back to your starting point through the Buddenberg Arboretum.Since you always move close to the city during the day, there are also several options for refreshments and breaks. Afterwards there are still a few options in Bad Driburg itself to supplement your hike, for example with a visit to the outdoor pool.
