We love winter! This is hardly a surprise. Here, in the Pitztal valley, the cold season brings untold beauty. From fairytale snow-covered landscapes and invigorating mountain air to panoramas that take your breath away. After all, we are in the middle of the wonderfully mountainous Tyrol region.

However, there are also those days when it gets dark outside early or the sun doesn't show itself so readily. This is when the winter blues can threaten. On these kind of days we normally like to wrap ourselves up in a cosy blanket all day and not even leave the house. That's one possibility... But we have a better idea!

Winter hiking! Not over hill and dale, but over thick blankets of snow. Further and further up into the mountains, out into the winter wonderland and above all away from the winter blues! We show you seven of our most beautiful routes in this Collection. We know, from experience, that they are a recipe for banishing those winter blues. A little vitamin D, a nice circulation boost, the thrill of a picturesque winter landscape and soothing silence. Perfect.

So, winter in Pitztal is not only an absolute joy for skiers and snowboarders, but also makes hikers' glad hearts beat faster. Plus, if you are in the mood for alternative activities, you can also go cross-country skiing or tobogganing. Many varied cross-country trails, such as the idyllic valley trail or the high-altitude trail on the Pitztal Glacier, await you here. And toboggan runs at the Hochzeigerhaus and the Gogles Alm can be perfectly combined with a winter hike. On our website we give you an overview of the various winter highlights in the region.

So, time to find out if you’ll love winter in Pitztal as much as we do.
