Visit the impressive Rhine Gorge, also known as the ‘Grand Canyon of Switzerland’. On almost all cross-country trails, inns give you the chance to warm up from the cold en route. If you like to ski in the dark, the two-night trails are fantastic. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, they’re lit up into the evening.
All starting points are easily accessible by public transport. You can also travel by car to most of the trails. Catch the mountain railway or shuttle bus to reach the circular routes in the Plaun and Bargis high valleys. These landscapes give you plenty of peace and solitude. You can rent equipment from the Trin, Flims, Bargis, Sagogn and Plaun ski centres, which also have cloakrooms and toilets.
Cross-Country Skiing Highlight
This hilly circular trail is perfect for you if you are looking for a little challenge. The rapid descent and the short, steep climbs require technique, fitness and attention. But you will be rewarded with wonderful views of the snowy mountains around Flims.
You can reach the Flims cross-country skiing center either by post bus or by car. Sufficient parking spaces are available. On the meadows of Rens, the trail meanders around hills and bushes before the first rapid descent is due. Don't forget to take a peek at your stunning surroundings from time to time. The way back to the cross-country center is really hard on the legs, because it leads steeply uphill. The heart of cross-country skiers will definitely beat a little faster here.

The car-free high valley of Bargis offers peace and pure enjoyment of nature. Nestled between impressive rocks and mountains and surrounded by forest, you glide over the sunny plateau at around 1,550 meters - past white-covered Maiensäss huts and deeply frozen mountain streams. The Isla trail is one of the easier trails in the Trin cross-country skiing area. It is generally quite flat and, with a total length of just under two kilometers, relatively short. This makes it ideal for concentrated technical training or a relaxed round with your training partner, where you also have time for a little chat. At the same time, the trail is also a connection between the longer Prada and Suraua trails, which you can combine to create a really challenging affair. The Isla trail starts - like the Suraua trail - at the Punt Suraua car park, which is just outside Trin Mulin. The post bus takes you to the nearby Trin, Mulin and Trin, Porclis stops. You will find changing rooms, toilets and showers at the Trin cross-country skiing center. You can find more insights into the trail here: flimslaax.com/langlauf/track/index/40144374.

The Sagogn dog trail offers you a unique opportunity: Here you can do laps with your four-legged friend and glide through the wonderful nature on narrow skis - because dogs are expressly allowed.
Starting at the cross-country skiing center, the trail makes a small loop and is just under a kilometer long. Since it is flat and has no technical difficulties, it is also ideal for beginners, for warming up or as a quick lap for checking equipment. And if you feel like more, you can directly join one of the longer trails at the cross-country skiing center. Please note, however, that dogs are not permitted on the other trails.
The Tedia Nordica cross-country skiing center is easy to reach by public transport. The Sagon, Vitg Dado bus stop is right next door. There are also plenty of parking spaces, a cloakroom, toilets and a cross-country ski run café. Further information can be found at flimslaax.com/langlauf/track/index/40591736.

The Sagogn cross-country ski trail offers you true cross-country skiing pleasure: For almost five kilometers, it takes you through the beautiful landscape south of Sagogn. Without any major climbs, you can let your eyes wander and enjoy the wonderful nature. Along the route, the terrain falls steeply down to the Rhine, which runs a little below. So you glide a beautiful lap next to the canyon through the open terrain, where there is a golf course in summer. Afterwards, you can treat yourself to a well-deserved refreshment in the café of the cross-country skiing center and reflect on the beautiful lap. The Tegia Nordica cross-country skiing center is easily accessible by public transport, as the Sagon, Vitg Dado bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. There is also plenty of parking available. A cloakroom, sanitary facilities and a café on the trail are also available. You can find more information about the Sagogn trail here: flimslaax.com/langlauf/track/index/23435046.

This varied tour takes you through the fairytale-like Flimser Grosswald and to the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland". At nine kilometers in length and almost 180 meters in altitude, this is a medium-difficult tour for which you should plan a total of around one to three hours.
The starting point is the Flims cross-country skiing center, which you can easily reach by car or postbus. From there you glide over the meadows of Rens and get breathtaking views of the snowy mountains of Graubünden. Soon you will dive into the Flimser Grosswald, where a fairytale winter landscape of impressive boulders, fir trees and beeches awaits you.
On the forest clearing Conn you can stop and warm up in the restaurant of the same name. From here you have a breathtaking view of the 14-kilometer-long Rhine Gorge. I also recommend a detour on foot to the "il Spir" viewing platform. Winding trails then take you back uphill and back to your starting point.

On this moderately difficult round you will discover the beautiful terraced landscape of the Rhine Valley and you will be offered beautiful views of the snow-covered floodplain forests. Since the trail gets a lot of sun from spring onwards, it is particularly recommended in January and February.
The circular route is 6.7 kilometers long in total. There are not many meters of altitude to overcome, but the curves and short descents as well as the small, crisp climbs require some technical skill and fitness. The starting point is the cross-country skiing center Tegia Nordica, which is right next to the Postbus stop Sagogn, Vitg Dado. There are also enough parking spaces here. You glide through a white mountain world while the sun makes the snow around you sparkle - that's pure cross-country skiing joy. That's exactly what you get on the easy Trin Suraua trail. At four and a half kilometers long, it's also suitable for beginners, only the short climbs and descents on the hilly terrain require a bit of technique and fitness here and there. You fly over the plain near Trin Mulin in wide loops while you soak up the wonderful panoramic view of the rugged mountains around you. In places the terrain is slightly inclined and a short, sharp climb right at the beginning gets your pulse racing. With a few double-pole pushes you'll soon be back at the starting point. The trail begins at the P3 "Punt Suraua" car park in Trin Mulin, which you can reach either by car or by post bus. From the Trin Mulin stop, it's about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the starting point. The idyllic Flims forest and the picturesque Crestasee are the highlights of this moderately difficult circuit. At just over five kilometers long, it is not that long, but you will definitely feel the 160 meters of elevation gain in your legs. If you are looking for peace and quiet and to enjoy nature, this trail is just right for you. You should plan on about an hour in total. If you want more of a challenge, you can also combine the trails in Flims and Trin to create a 32-kilometer-long trail network. You can reach the starting point of this trail after a short walk via the Trin - Suraua trail, which you can also find in this collection. This in turn starts at the P3 "Punt Suraua" car park in Trin Mulin, which you can reach either by car or by post bus. From the Trin Mulin stop, it is a 10 to 15-minute walk to the start. A first tough climb takes you up to the beautiful Crestasee. The route continues through the quiet forest up to Conn-Strasse. The subsequent descent requires some skill and driving ability, but you will be rewarded with wonderful views of the snow-covered mountains. Snow-covered, quiet mountain forests, a real Nordic feeling and breathtaking views await you on this trail. A bit of fitness is required for almost 16 kilometers and 170 meters in altitude, but the ascents and descents are long and harmless.
You can either start at the cross-country skiing center on the outskirts of Flims or the sports center Prau La Selva. Both points can be reached by public transport and ample parking is also available. From there your way leads you to the excursion restaurant Conn, where you can stop and warm up. We also recommend a short detour on foot to the "il Spir" viewing platform. From the futuristic platform you get a fascinating view of the Rhine Valley.

Do you want to be challenged in sports? Are you an experienced cross-country skier or an ambitious hobby athlete? Then the Laghizun trail is just right for you. It complements the Suraua trail with a challenging additional loop.
The two rounds have in common the wonderful views that you have here of the magnificent mountain world around Trin Mulin. Thanks to the additional loop, you can expect an extra tough climb that will challenge your fitness. The partially hanging trail provides an additional technical challenge. Overall, you can look forward to a good four and a half very varied kilometers.
The starting point is the Punt Suraua car park in Trin Mulin. If you are traveling by public transport, the Trin, Mulin and Trin, Porclis stops are just a few minutes' walk from the start. Cloakrooms, toilets and showers are available at the Trin cross-country skiing center.
