Gehe gerne wandern, am liebsten in den Bergen 😊.
Promising full-day hike across the Großer Inselsberg to the Schmalkalde spring and further through the Kühle valley to Friedrichroda. From Wuthaer Mölmen it was initially quite comfortable over the Rehberg and the Deubacher Höhen to Schmerbach and further to Winterstein. In Schmerbach I was particularly impressed by the beautiful running fountains. The most strenuous part of the hike was the ascent from Winterstein to the Großer Inselsberg via the Schlotweg. In the refuge on the Schlotwiese, about halfway through, I first took a break before tackling the steepest part. Once at the top of the Inselsberg, I enjoyed the great view and the tasty lunch. We continued on the Rennsteig across the border meadow to the Großer Jagdberg. The descent to the Schmalkalde spring was very steep and partly overgrown, so I had even lost a short distance. The last part then led from the Heuberghaus through the wild and romantic cool valley with a small waterfall to Friedrichroda.

This beautiful hike to Ascension Day 2020 led from Gehlberg station via the Wilderer path, then on a section of the summit hiking path to Seiffartsburg. The summit hiking trail and especially the ascent to the rock require absolute sure-footedness and sturdy shoes, but the view is unique. We continued with a short detour via the Sachsenstein to the Schmücke and finally to the goal of the hike - the 978 m high Schneekopf with its striking observation tower. Its viewing platform is at a little more than 1001 m above sea level. However, the tower was closed due to the current situation. For the way back I chose the steep descent through hell. Passing the Meininger hut we went to the Güldenen bridge and on a further section of the Wilderer path through the snow crucible to the starting point of the hike.
