If the Hohe Loog Hutte is open during the holidays, we gladly used it today for a short hike with good friends. Nice company, great weather and @Angelika &🐅(🌠) favorite round. Home is simply beautiful.

After shopping in Ribeauvillé (there were 2 new caps in my favorite cap store) we did the 3 castles tour. Sounds rather harmless based on the key data, but it's not entirely without its challenges. The castles are really awesome and definitely worth a visit. Château du Grisberg particularly captivated

Used the rainy day for a visit to Colmar, always beautiful and not too crowded today 😉. We also found a dry and "safe" parking spot for the 🦆 ☺️. By the way, the parking garage at the start has only cost €3 per day for years...

Mont Saint-Odile mit Kloster und Heidenweg
Neben dem beeindruckenden Kloster ist der Heidenweg fast noch beeindruckender. Eine 11km lange Mauer, 2m dick und 3m hoch, zog sich hier um den gesamten Bergrücken. Es gibt einen Weg der die Reste der ins 7. Jahrhundert n. Chr. datierte Mauer erschließt. sehr empfehmlenswert! Wer es kürzer mag sollte "nur"…

Burgruine Bernstein, Aussichtspunkt Rocher Bellevue, Hagelstein und Falkenstein
Die Felsen sind klasse, besonders gegen Abend. Um den etwas eintönigen Anstieg zu sparen würde ich die Tour beim nächsten mal ab dem Schulwaldplatz gehen. Burg Bernstein ist leider aktuell (2026) wg Baumaßnahmen nicht zugänglich.

Burg Frankenbourg und jede Menge Felsen und Aussichtspunkte
Sehr schöner Rundweg mit knackigen An und Abstiegen. Burg Falkenbourg ist eine tolle ursprüngliche Ruine, nahe de Hochkönigsburg. Leider ist sie seit 04/2026 vermutlich deshalb gesperrt.

Highly recommended, sandstone cliffs and rock castle, almost like home. Here you notice again the togetherness of Alsace and Palatinate, at least with some of the rock formations it seems that the same structural engineer was at work
