@YorkshireLondoner I link all my rides with my Garmin and use both to direct me while on my bike, it's a great way to get directions, visual from my Garmin and audible from Komoot via my earbuds 👍😉

Strange but amazing landscape. The mudflats of the Wash attract loads of species. Pity Komoot doesn’t do videos or you could see murmurations of Knots

Nice easy ride apart from the sea fret which made its way inland. The Rebellion Way is a long distance trail by Cycling UK. It is not sign posted at all. Follows Route 1 much of the way. Wells is lovely

Wanted to try my new tyres out. I’d been looking for a hybrid tyre that rolled better on roads but had grip off road and was recommended these. Only been on roads today and they roll quiet and fast so looking good so far.. Some nice villages and lovely buildings and churches.. I’m not in the least bit religious but find them and graveyards quite fascinating! Gravestones give you quite a lot of information.!

To Paul’s Pond and across fields to Iron Tiger Coffee cafe... Loads of different fungi and carpets of acorns. You may have spotted a surplus of acorns littering the woodland paths. This year's bumper crop is mainly due to a phenomenon called a 'mast year' - and the weather may also have a part to play. Warm, dry spring conditions, just as we saw this year, are perfect for pollination of oak flowers - producing more acorns. What is a mast year? The number of nuts produced by some of our most recognisable tree species - such as oak and beech - fluctuate from year to year. Some years there are very few but other times, like this autumn, we get an acorn bonanza. Owen Phillips is from the Woodland Trust and explains: "Every few years, some species of trees and shrubs produce a bumper crop of their fruits or nuts. "The collective term for these fruits and nuts is 'mast', so we call this a mast year."
