From Straß the hike first led to Bogheim. Then over the Rinnebach up to the outskirts of Kleinhau. Past the model airfield we went back to Straß. At Kleinhau it was still a bit white, there the paths were also a bit frozen. We met only a few hikers

We liked the tour from the previous day, so a new edition. It thawed. Less snow, more mud. Some snowfall at the beginning. Towards the end you could guess the sun.

From the Rennweg parking lot towards Schevenhütte) we are to the Thönbach (old beaver dams). From there towards Großhau. Back over the Geyer cross. The last part back to the parking lot via Rennweg.
It was snowing all the time and visibility was limited.
Due to the difference in height, there were areas that were only powdered white; large stretches of road were nicely covered with snow.January 10, 2021

In order to avoid the crowds and to avoid traffic jams, we have chosen this loop, which we have already walked many times.

From the Laufenburg parking lot on Schönthaler Straße we went to the former Wenau monastery. From there through Heistern to the Kammerbusch landscape garden. The park was laid out in 1851 by the Schleicher family of manufacturers. Unfortunately, large areas are bare due to clear cutting / storm / bark beetles. Newly planted trees can be seen in some places.
Because of the rhododendrons, I plan to visit again in spring.
Actually I wanted to go back to the parking lot via Laufenburg, as it was getting dark we chose a shortcut via Schönthaler Straße.January 2, 2021

Our first hike in 2021 leads from Derichsweiler to the Düren bathing lake via Gut Nazareth to the Echtzer bathing lake (both former coal mine) along the Konzendorfer brook and basin back to Derichsweiler. The beavers were / are active on the Echtzer See and the Konzendorfer Bach.
