DC 50 States Ride
My first time doing WABA's organized ride on a route that incorporates (sometimes very briefly) every DC road named after a U.S. state. It was fun riding through so many different neighborhoods and nooks and crannies of the city!

Reston-Leesburg-Reston

Ashburn metro to Purcellville
I had not biked anywhere in Ashburn except the W&OD before today, so I enjoyed getting to know the trails from the metro to the W&OD. And of course the hamburgers in Purcellville always taste extra delicious after a couple of hours of cycling!

Doin a Farfax County loop
The route wasn't always pretty, but it was blissfully uncrowded away from the W&OD. Lots of room to really lean into the ride!

Sanguinho Hike in the Azores
This is a beautiful hike with a few steep but short ascents and descents. It takes you by the village of Sanguinho that was abandoned in the 1970s but has been restored in the traditional style and is now available as vacation rentals. It is actually a loop hike ofβ¦

I was hoping the trail along Difficult Run would be gravel, but it was a mountain biking/hiking trail. Oops. Oh well, the spring flowers were beautiful. My phone battery ran low, so the final part of the route shown on the map is wonky.
