Apart from the commotion at the harbor in Gravelotte (which is called "Lichterfest" there, but was ultimately another intrusive "music" sound for my taste) a nice round. Too bad for Laika, who bravely struggled in the afternoon heat with her thick fur, that a cooling off in Lake Kummerow was not possible

Fate wanted it this way today, that Mattis Dorfstullen-Imbiss (instead of the usual spot at the village square) had set up shop at the harbor in Lohme. So there was no way around it! If you like it healthy, delicious, and filling, get the Dorfstulle with beetroot salmon or the one with Bodden cheese directly from Bisdamitz 😁

Off the Baltic Sea Cycle Route between Barth and Stralsund, a small detour is worthwhile for two (and also four) legs.

It is now official. The German Shepherd Laika has received (just in time for her eighth birthday) a diagnosis of spondylosis (spinal disease) - and we the instruction: "Better shorter walks several times a day instead of extended, demanding rounds". So we will take it easier, like here on the Drigge

Now the in-laws know this (beautiful all-year-round) route too. Whether I'll be able to shake off the kilometers as easily in my mid-80s as they do, however, remains to be proven... Chapeau!

Today we burned the most calories by changing clothes. The weather was moody. In a flash, the mood changed from carefree to dramatic (and back again). This made the already beautiful tour something very special.

Usedom - quickly, before the hustle and bustle begins. Between Benz and the Baltic Sea it was deserted, only in Bansin it was already bustling a lot. A really beautiful and varied round. Lots of shady forest, several bathing opportunities - therefore also 'something' for hot days.

Dreisam through the Recknitztal - no people far and wide. Instead, many views into the distance and breadth, which are still pleasantly unobstructed here (no power pole, no wind turbine). On the edges, gentle hills and paths that meander through fields and mixed forests. At the start and end point, a

Today we cured the hangover from the last few days in the surrounding area (south-west of Stralsund). Not a spectacular tour, but with a few highlights: several swimming spots on the Borgwallsee, an idyllic garden café ("Rumpelstilz") in Krummenhagen, forest and meadow paths that show their most beautiful

Under the blazing Pentecost sun - Day 2. Out and about on favorite island routes with a Berliner inexperienced in hiking (a rare specimen). It had to happen: he got lost right away.

Attracted by the 1st Rügen Garden Days at Gut Rosengarten, we combined our hike today with a bit of plant shopping. There is also delicious food at the Garden Days, which continue tomorrow, Sunday (August 30th). If you are nearby.... it's worth it!
