Combined a visit to friends in Upper Bavaria with a circuit of the Staffelssee. Only 40 minutes from our holiday home in the Ostallgäu, yet a leap from winter to spring. And a highly recommended circuit!

If you don't feel like climbing sometimes, this tour through the Lechtal is perfect. You can still enjoy the mountains. And you are close to the element of water, the wilder kind. A beautiful tour. The paths are sometimes not cleared. Stomping through the snow felt like more kilometers.

Today the tour had to be a little shorter. The fresh snow had turned the smaller mountain paths (at least for us lowlanders) into a challenge. Knee-deep in places, but always well-cushioned :) Particularly beautiful: the Saloberalm and the Alatsee. A walk through an enchanted, white fairytale landscape.

What a delight today, to trudge through the Allgäu snow, even if - especially for the dog - it wasn't exactly relaxing. Instead of the much-praised view on the Buchenberg, everything disappeared into a snowstorm. That too was an experience. It was so much fun that I'll now claim: winter in spring can continue...
