Anyone who loves the NSG Wetzlarer Weinberg like I do will be no less impressed by the NSG Hohe Warte near Gießen, as both are highly attractively renatured former military training areas. The peacefulness of the terrain easily compensates for the sometimes somewhat monotonous out-and-back route on mostly straight paths.

I had hoped to enjoy at least halfway spring-like conditions up to Schloß Vollrads before the afternoon "whistle concert" of the wind, which actually worked out wonderfully; afterwards it quickly clouded over, and the last few kilometers on the Leinpfad were anyway on "autopilot".
