Great circular tour with fantastic paths and mountain trails, from 600m altitude across rocks ... again and again grandiose views over the fjord landscape ... one of the most beautiful tours 🤩

„Walk“ for that reason 😂, because for the first 5km it goes comfortably along the forest path into Åkradalen, always along the Åkraelva - but with quite a lot of altitude gain... only the last kilometer leads over a typical mountain path up to the plateau of Åkrastølen.

After 55l of rain yesterday, it was supposed to stay dry this morning (!!!) ... so off we went: from Åkra first up to an altitude of 230m in the direction of Vågsstølen ... with great views over the Åkrafjord again and again 🤩

Sunday… and we were curious: since last year, helicopter flights have been operating weekdays behind us in the Fjell.
Statnett is currently building a new 420 kV power line across the Åkrafjord. A 1km gravel road has been blasted into the rock, leading up about 300m and ending at the heli-landing site

We actually start with lots of sunshine... first to Mannsvatnet at about 580m... we circle half the lake, which was a pretty muddy affair due to the heavy rain yesterday... after that, it's a steep 300 vertical meters to the summit of Barmasåta at 908m... unfortunately, dark clouds now, but no rain.
