Today it was the turn of an area that I had never experienced on foot like this, but had explored by bike years ago and swam in once.

Beautiful round with a good friend, we haven't been out together in ages. All the more beautiful when a fine day beckons with lots of sunshine. Enjoying this fine little tour once more was my goal today. Started from home by bike in the morning and then started running from the Gechelbach. I was almost alone on the way, wonderful.

On Wednesday, I was really itching to go bowhunting again at Spallen, especially when the animals are practically right in front of you.



So it made sense to suggest to my colleague that we go together; spontaneity is always best anyway.

The last time we hiked together, we were in the snow. Today, Stephanie and I sought out and found spring. Higher up in the mountains, however, it's still quite wintry, which she'll enjoy with her hiking buddies on Friday.

Now is the perfect time for such lovely hikes at mid-altitude, where there's no snow. Lots of bikers are heading up towards Schneiderkopf, so you're never alone. I hiked from the old blacksmith's shop via the Dreiländerblick viewpoint to Bereuter.
