Komoot has now ruined my painstakingly written tour description twice, now that's enough ...But I would like to mention a few things:
☹️ I don't have to cycle across the Fehmarnsund Bridge again, because the fun factor is completely missing because of the extremely narrow bike-footpath, construction site and a lot of traffic.
😀 The island is great for cycling. Along the coast there is a great view in all directions over the dike and many small streets with little car traffic invite you to relaxed cruising.
🔝 Our completely unplanned top highlight of the tour was the Jimi Hendrix memorial stone.
Exactly 51 years ago, from September 4-6, 1970, the Love and Peace Festival took place here, at the time it was supposed to be the German answer to Woodstock. Jimi Hendrix was booked as a top act for 70,000 DM and made the audience wait a day before his performance because the weather didn't really suit him (too windy and then it was raining too)
Other groups canceled completely ... it must have been quite a flop for the organizers.
And now, on the 51st anniversary, quite a few people met right here (for the revival?) And looked a bit out of date ...

The old country - the largest fruit-growing area in Northern Europe - was our destination for today. The bike tour started in Cranz and led us along the Este into the growing areas.
The apple trees are currently in full bloom or even more budding, while the cherry blossom is just beginning to bloom.
A great sight - everywhere you look, apple trees in bloom.
There are many good cycle paths, but there were too many people on this Sunday in summery weather - like us ...
The way back from Twielenfleth went along the Elbe back to Cranz.

The Stekendammsau, a brook, has its source near the village of Pries and flows into the fjord a few kilometers further south near the Stickenhörn sports boat harbor in Kiel-Friedrichsort.Our tour started in Stift. We walked west and south around Kiel-Holtenau airport and came to the former MFG5 site (MarineFliegerGeschwader), which is still waiting for its urban revival. We went on to the Schusterkrug and then we finally came to the valley of the Stekendammsau. The path led us up the valley between the stream and the railway line. Nature seemed to me - perhaps also because of the mediocre weather - still in hibernation, but the landscape of the valley is very attractive and is definitely worth a visit.

The real highlight of this hike was the Fehltmoor, a light forest in the moor predominantly overgrown with birch trees with an easily accessible hiking trail through it. About 200 meters from the southern end of the moor, however, we couldn't get through. Huge pools of water and swampy areas blocked our way. No chance - we had to go back. We made an arc along the edge of the forest to the west around the moor and came back on our way to Flintbek after about 2 km.
