"Up until today I was completely unaware that National Park entry costs". This is what I said after being scolded for trying to breach de Hoge Veluwe, ignoring barrier and cashier's window. "I really thought this gate is for cars, Madam" I added;) Since I had an appointment there was no time for changes. For 13.85€ I cycled roughly 15km till next gate. Later on surroundings didn't change much. Non premium version of the route had worse surface and machine guns rumbling in distant. Arrived 15 minutes before appontment after which the Sun finally broke through...

After the brief mainainence I went for a test ride. The +/- 310 grams I've shaved off the rotation mass makes the difference big time. On my way to visit friends, I abandoned the idea. Didn't feel like getting confined...

Standard procedure of getting to the holy city of Nijmegen flew by. Return led via Defensie Kanaal and and Some smooth forest lanes. Having deep regrets about winter gluttony I packed only two small pieces of cake...which I ate early into the ride;) Between Oploo and Vierlingsbeek I was in survival mode, craving sugar big time. At the store I stocked like 5000 kcal...just to be sure the last 20km would go smooth.
