The climb up to Alport Moor from Birchin Clough car park is a real test. You can feel the strain in the back of your calf and a proper lung buster.

There is a small but fantastic picnic spot at the coordinates below - it’s on the north bank of the stream, beside a small waterfall. Requires sure-footedness to walk carefully down the bank from the path.
