Pretty half-timbered houses and medieval flair greet you at the beginning of this good 14-kilometer hike on the market square in Vaihingen. The varied round trip leads you through the old, steep vineyards of the Roßwager stockpile, the deeply cut into the shell limestone slopes Enztal and cool forests and lush floodplains. You walk past Kaltenstein Castle and out of the city of Vaihingen. The trail runs along the quarry and into the picturesque landscape of the vineyards. From the steep slopes above the district Roßwag you have a great view over the Enztal. Then you cross the Enz, walk along the power station canal and enjoy the nature of the Enzaue. Now it is not far to the starting point of your hike. The castle and the powder tower welcome you from afar.In Vaihingen there are many restaurants and cafés for completing your hiking day. If hunger strikes you on the way, you will find cozy restaurants with regional cuisine in Roßwag. A good opportunity to taste the local wine. From Stuttgart or Pforzheim you can take the train to Vaihingen an der Enz in about 15 minutes. If you arrive by car, you can park for free at the parking lot "Im Mühlkanal".
