Parsley Hay Visitor Centre and Bike Hire
Highlight • Cycleway
Great snack bar and bike hire centre. Makes for a good target to aim for when riding on the Tissington or High Peak Trails.
The snack bar doesn't have inside facilities so you'll have to use the picnic tables outside. These can be cold in winter as you're about 1,100 feet (335 m) up. There's some cover from the rain. and toilets facilities.
The bike hire centre offers various kinds of bikes including ones modified for disabled users and electric bikes.

If you are looking for an easier life cycle around the reservoir anticlockwise as this way you get the harder part out of the way in the first half of the ride and have an easier end to the ride when you might not have so much energy left.

Nice cafe at the side of a camp site. I think they bake all the cakes that they sell in the cafe. Short menu but a good place to stop for cake and a hot drink. Nice outside tables for the good weather and a smallish room inside for the winter.
Opening hours are not often so check before making a special visit. Preferable to the Carsington Water visitor centre which is very average.

Bradbourne Village
Highlight • Historical Site
A "doubly thankful" village. A thankful village is one where none of the inhabitants were killed in the First World War. A doubly thankful one is where no inhabitants were killed in either the First or Second World Wars.
Either there weren't many soldiers from Bradbourne or they were very lucky.
The apparent war memorial is actually a commemoration of Queen Victoria's 60 years on the throne.
A nice scenic village but no facilities such as shops, cafes or pubs.

Fun for the fool hardy, slow and steady. Can be deep, be prepared to bail if your bike starts to slide out from under. At your own risk🚲😬. Bridge for the sensible 😉
