Today I decided to use up some of the single-track from Stansted Park before it turns to winter mush. The tracks were in amazing condition for mid October with just a few patches of slop.
When I got to Kingley Vale, I discovered that quite extensive logging (or harvesting as they're eco washing it) is in progress. The pristine gravel main track is already chewed up so by the time i reached the top my tyres were full of sticky mud.
The bridleway descent to Funtingdon was closed off so I took the other excellent descent to Walderton instead. I might have to avoid Kingley Vale this winter....
