My goal was to reach and climb a mountain at Dafni (Δάφνη) village right after Dervenochoria (Δερβενοχώρια) . When i started ascending i came across 2 hostile stray dogs. I threw a snickers bar at 'em but they didn't even
bother. So i had to ride somewhere else.

I thought i should take my chances to Mt. Cithaeron but from the gravel side.
I haven't studied the climb cause i was supposed to ride it in a couple of weeks and my Garmin wasn't showing the climb profile of it.
So i started climbing from Platees (Πλαταίες) village.
There is a short section of asphalt but after passing the football field and right after a short descent the area welcomes you with a steep ascent starting from 11% - 15% up to the Monastery of St. Triad.
From that part on the gravel begins. You got a short rocky descent of 570m. The climb as i've ridden it is definitely is a Cat. HC .
I mean it maxes at 15% and for the most part it's 8% - 14% .
The terrain is rocky and there are a few sections of loose gravel.
View wise it's amazing. Specially when you reach the wind turbines area where you can gaze at the Corinthian gulf. Expect wind also .That day i had headwind during the whole ride.
