Camino Ingles Day 4

I have discovered that I'm not very good at staying in albergues. Generally, I consider myself to be a relatively organised, tidy person, but living out of a backpack is a challenge too far for me - every day my kit is just everywhere! Trying to gather everything together and get dressed quietly in darkness, so as not to wake our Portuguese buddies, and without banging my head on the bunk bed (again!) is impossible 😆
We left in the mist this morning and followed the path through quiet farmland and woodland. The first 6 miles was a bit of a slog for tired legs, pretty much all uphill, but we knew after topping out at Bruma we'd at least be mostly downhill. The first café we saw wasn't until we'd finished climbing, and I don't think I've ever been more ready for a coffee and croissant!
Our original plan was to stay in an albergue again in Poulo tonight, until we realised that the local restaurant closes at 4pm. So, we've deviated slightly from the official route and come to Ordes, and traded in our bunk beds for a hotel room with a choice of restaurants. Result! 👍
N.B. Phil has become a bit concerned that he's getting some bad press, and would like to reassure everyone that he's been very considerate today, not stormed ahead, and asked me frequently if I needed to stop. He's now going to take me out for a beer. I'm not complaining 😉
