Anfangs war die Wegführung etwas eintönig. Später in Rääkkylä waren die Wege sehr verwegen und schwer zu finden. Das Oravilahti ist ein großen Entwässerungsgebiet, das aber nun durchziehenden Vögel als wichtige Raststätte dient. Damit geht einher, dass sich entsprechend Habichte einfinden, die davon wieder Nutzen haben. Zudem ist es ein wichtiges Feucht- und Brutgebiet auch für andere Vögel.
