Even though I objectively knew that the climb to Nine Standards was a big ascent at the start of the day I found this was harder than expected; although after big days in the Lakes I probably shouldn't have been to surprised.
The weather was dry although there was a strong easterly which added to the strain of the ascent.
The walk down to Keld and through swaledale was very enjoyable and have a marked contrast in landscape to that of Cumbria.
Camped at Orchard View. Had dinner in the Black Bull which was excellent.
