The third stage of the Pohorje-Kozjak Trail starts at Ruška koča. From there, follow the asphalt road and parking area west, passing the former Hotel Areh. Follow the trail markers with the number 1. The road soon becomes a gravel road and continues into the forest.

After a short while, the marked trail leaves the road and turns left. Be careful at this point, as there is another turn nearby leading to Bajgot via Žigartov vrh. Don't take this path, although you could extend the stage if you really wanted to.

The trail continues along a cross-country ski track and passes the spring of the Velika Polskava stream, where you can get water. It then reaches the Bajgot - Tri cerkve road. Cross the road and continue past a meadow into the forest, all the way to Tinčeva bajta.

At Tinčeva bajta, cross the Smrečno, or Trije kralji - Bajgot, road. The trail then goes downhill through the forest towards Bajgot, also known as Šumik.

There is no regular public transport directly to Ruška koča at Areh, where the third stage starts. There are, however, several options depending on the season.

For hikers travelling from Ruše or Hoče, Marprom and the Municipality of Hoče-Slivnica operate a Summer Bus Line between 25 June and 31 August. This provides direct access to Areh. Marprom also operates a ski bus to Areh during the winter season. As schedules and routes can change, check the latest information on the Marprom website before setting out.

Outside the summer and winter seasons, the nearest bus and railway stations are in Ruše and Smolnik. From there, you still have about a two-hour walk to the start of the stage.

From Maribor, Ljubljana, Celje and other larger towns, you can travel by bus to Ruše or Hoče when using the Summer Bus Line, or to Ruše or Smolnik outside the seasonal periods. Bus services are operated by Arriva and Nomago, while train services are provided by Slovenske železnice.
