Con qualche km di strada si raggiunge il canale che collega l'Ille e la Rance. È spettacolare, ricco d'acqua (non pulita...) e reso navigabile da un susseguirsi di chiuse mosse a forza di braccia. La pista, sterrata e molto frequentata, segue fedelmente il canale all'ombra delle querce. Si arriva così al centro di Rennes, che della Bretagna è capitale, con un bel centro storico. Notevoli le case più vecchie,a graticcio: non ce ne è una dritta
