The Lake: A glacial bog lake formed by the retreat of glaciers. It is steadily silting up and today has only about 0.3 hectares of open water.
Protected Area: The Urseemoor has been a protected nature reserve since 1940, and entry is prohibited to protect rare plants (such as the small water lily).
Hiking: The Urseeweg, approximately 8 to 9 kilometers long, is a well-marked loop trail (marked with a blue diamond) that is also accessible with strollers. The Urseeblick viewpoint on Komoot is a popular spot.
