The team copped well with heavy bags and challenging terrain, steep ramps up and slippery slopes down. We arrived at Bambangan Camp in a heavy downpour. After setting up the hammocks, the rain continued and turned into a tropical rain storm. The site became a river and the horizontal rain swept through the hammocks, soaking a lot of personal kit, including sleeping kit.. Fortunately there was a number of buildings on the campsite, so we managed to get out of the weather and survive the night. The rain didn’t subside until the early hours of the next morning.
