Heute Ernstberg-Panoramaweg: gut 10 km und 370 Höhenmeter.
Geparkt auf der Höhe zwischen Hinterweiler und Waldkönigen - unterhalb der Windräder.
Man umrundet zunächst eine Lava-Grube mit Ausblicken nach Norden. Vorbei an einem Angelweiher, wo die Forellen um die Wette sprangen.
Von Hinterweiler nach Kirchweiler und Anstieg zu einem Ernstbergnebengipfel.
Danach an einem Eifelblick hinauf zum Hauptgipfel des Ernstbergvulkan auf 699 Meter.
Beim Abstieg finden wir tiefe Gruben und Stolleneingänge.
Über Pfade nach Süden und dann östlich des Hauptgipfel vorbei zum Ausgangspunkt.
