This is a nice gentle 30 miler that benefits from a good long stretch bobbing up and down at the bottom of the chalk Downs before curving inland along the delightfully small and generally very quiet Clappers Lane, Blackstone Lane and Wineham and Twineham. Clappers and Blackstone are particularly good during hot weather.
Blackstone is the architectural delight, including buildings from medieval times. More usefully there is a great bench to sit and have a snack.
However, you do need to be a confident cyclist as the stretch through to Hurst and some of the interchanges are busy and there are plenty of pot-holes.
