A very hot day, so tried to keep the hill climbs to a low level. Past experience has taught me that the bramble gets out of hand this time of year and the secateurs that I've invested in came in very handy. Although cutting a way through some of that foliage added an hour to the estimated time to complete this walk, even though having done the walk in the past and cutting a way through previously. However, I do prefer to walk through greenery rather than tarmacked roads, So I advise anyone thinking of doing this walk, beware the bramble - even though it is only for a couple of yards in a few spots until reaching the Turner Lane - it will be there until the end of summer, despite me cutting it back a few times already, take your secateurs.
