I hiked from Ilam Hall where I parked my car to the Dovedale car park and then to Milldale through Dovedale itself, past the stepping stones. I then retraced my steps to cross the river on the bridge by Ilam rock, returning to my car up the steep climb and through the fields. A welcome cup of tea at the Manifold Tea Room in Ilam Hall concluded the walk.
