The Via Ferrata Puerta del Agua is one of the most enjoyable and sustained routes in Comares. Although it is not heavily overhanging, it features a surprisingly continuous sequence of athletic sections, including several mild overhangs and exposed traverses that keep the climbing engaging from start to finish. The physical effort remains fairly constant throughout the route, making it feel more demanding than its short length might suggest.
The ferrata offers an excellent variety of terrain, combining vertical walls, traverses, and several aerial bridge crossings. The route is renowned for its spectacular panoramic views over the surrounding Axarquía landscape, which accompany climbers for most of the ascent.
One of the highlights is the succession of exposed and entertaining sections that create a strong sense of height without becoming excessively technical. The route culminates with an impressive suspension bridge, providing a memorable finale before the easy exit back to the parking area.
Overall, Puerta del Agua is a beautiful and varied K3 ferrata, offering sustained climbing, several athletic moves, outstanding exposure, and magnificent views throughout the entire route.
