Amsterdam Countryside Ride - Clogs, Cheese, and Cows

We took an e-bike ride north of Amsterdam to get out of the city and explore the countryside. It was a 25 mile loop that covered all kinds of terrain and gave us a break at a little shop that made cheese and clogs.

We started from the top of the city and took a free ferry over the water, filled with dozens and dozens of biking commuters going each direction. Nothing like we would ever see in the US.

With bikes being such a priority in Amsterdam and surrounding villages, the bike paths were everywhere - all paved of varying qualities, some brick or cobblestone. We traveled at pretty high speeds so getting shots on the go was difficult, but we made some great stops along the way.

The trip out put the wind behind us which made for a silent and heavenly ride north. The trip back was 15mph gale wins at our face, so we definitely got some exercise by the end.

Definitely THE highlight of our Amsterdam trip!
