What a wonderful route for an E-bike! Varied scenery and a very well maintained gravel estate track, especially on the first steep section. No problems with rough, loose and bouldery terrain. The steep section from Lynwilg would have been far harder if the track surface had not been fixed to such a high standard.
Gaining height out of the initial mixed forest, the bald landscape at 2,600ft and a close Corbett (Geal-charn Mor) offer expansive views toward the Monadhliath mountain range, west of Aviemore. The descent to the River Dulnain is gravel heaven, leading to farmland and another of General Wade's Military Roads, before turning east to cross the A9 and continue to Boat of Garten. Finally, follow the Speyside Way back into Aviemore. A very good day out
