Los ging es in Münster Grünsbach.
Am Wald Parkplatz Grünsbach geht es gleich links einen Waldweg bergauf.
Diesen folgt man ca. 1,2 Kilometer.
Jetzt folgt man der Beschilderung Richtung Postalm ca. einen Kilometer über einen Steig.
Trittsicherheit ist erforderlich.
Von der Postalm geht es weiter über einen Wanderweg Richtung Kniepasskapelle und von dort über Forstwege ca. 5 Kilometer bis zur Bayreuther Hütte auf 1600m.
Direkt über die Bayreuther Hütte kommt man auf den Wanderweg, welcher zum vorderen Sonnwendjoch führt.
