The May 2026 edition of Country Walking published the route, listing it as 8.5 miles. The big plus of this walk is the start from, and finish at, the National Trust's Woolsthorpe Manor. The going was difficult in places as fields were freshly tilled and sown. These cross field paths are direct village to village routes, with church towers as the landmarks. It seems as if the paths link places that are not there any more such as the Knights Templar preceptory between the Withams. Paths may be some of the oldest features of the landscape.
