• Märchenhafte Höhenburg aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, von Kaiser Barbarossa erstmals 1157 erwähnt, seitdem im Besitz der Familie Eltz – nie zerstört. .
• Lage: Errichtet auf einem Felsriff, umgeben vom Elzbach – die Burg liegt in einem Naturschutzgebiet. .
• Besichtigung möglich: Besonders in den Sommermonaten sind Führungen durch authentisch eingerichtete Räume mit teilweise originaler Ausstattung möglich.
