I set off with a good few miles on quiet b roads which was a welcome relief after how tough the Trans Cambrian Way had been. The weather had warmed up a fair bit too, as I tackled the first big climb of the day sweat dripping from every part of me. I sat at the top drying my shirt and socks out when a couple crested the hill going the other way pushing bikes. One of the e-bikes pedals has seized and unscrewed itself from the crank. After lending them my Leatherman it was back spinning freely again and off they went. My T-shirt kinda dry I set off down the hill, with a view of the sea to the left as I descended into the valley.
I had planned to wild camp not far outside of Coed Y Brenin and have breakfast in the cafe there, I ended up pushing on and found a quiet little camp spot by the lake at Trawsfynydd. Not before dealing with maybe the roughest section of trail on the whole route, hiking my bike up the loose rocky track out of the trail centre. Soon enough I was back on tarmac and I made it into camp not long before sunset.
