Broad Lane Restricted Byway (West Section)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The first section of Broad Lane to the west, which extends further east to road, and then on over the railway crossing into Westerleigh. Enjoy this wide doubletrack, stony and dirty and anything but level!

12.5 km

Broad Lane Byway

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Brilliant off-road trail, compacted mud so can be sloppy in winter. Pretty flat between the trees.

15.2 km

Wapley Bushes Nature Reserve Bike Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Take the track through Wapley Bushes Nature Reserve and then the light gravel trail to avoid the roads, following along the trainline to the east leading you to Chipping Sodbury. …

21.9 km

Dodington Estate

Highlight (Segment) • Natural

This is a beautiful estate, but unfortunately cyclists are not allowed. We passed through with our bikes (although we were on foot since the hill is very steep!) and a …

27.2 km

Old Sodbury–Badminton Bridleway

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Bridlepath is a bit tricky to get into on the Sodbury side as it starts quite suddenly off a main road and passes through two fields with curious horses before …

Tree-Lined Lane in the Cotswolds

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Quiet, uniform tree lined lane. Feels like you are going down somebody's driveway as you turn onto it from the main road.

40.2 km

Bath Lane Gravel Path

Highlight • Cycleway

Surface is tightly packed gravel and holds up well through bad weather. Would be doable on a road bike but the surface is uneven at the Northern end of the segment.

Lock's Lane and Cogmill Lane Bridleways

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

These two back lane bridleways link via Folly Farm to give a great ride on the outskirts of Frampton Cotterell in the Marle Hills. Enjoy really mixed terrain along here, including some rather wet covered singletrack!

65.2 km

Hover's Lane Bridleway and Ford

Highlight (Segment) • River

Dry dusty dirt, twists and turns, ruts, rocks and puddles, this is a mega bridleway for gravel, cx and mountain bikes! From near Frampton Cotterell in the south to the B4058, it's a pretty long dirt road.

Tubbs Lane

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A barrier in place to stop cars, and the surface is remarkably good - surface mud in places, but all tarmac and not too many pot holes.
There seem to be more routes off from this one to explore too.

74.1 km

Old Country Lane and Grassy Singletrack

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A nice piece to link into Batchfield lane. Surface can be a little muddy in places, but theres a little bit of everything road, grassy doubletrack and single track, but …

Batchfield Lane Dirt Track

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A favourite for fly tippers, and even more so for cyclists - zero cars here, and it turns into singletrack too, what's not to like!?

81.5 km

Gravel Trail to Westerleigh

Highlight • Trail

Where the cycle path changes from tarmac to a light gravel, strade bianche style in places next to the fields and more muddy under the trees. Really fun and beautiful way to escape the city.

83.0 km

Dramway Bridleway

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

It's marked as a footpath from the northern end and bridleway from the southern end, but rest assured this is officially a bridleway and hence rideable. Brilliant compact mud and pretty wide too.

88.3 km

Moorend Bridleway

Highlight (Segment) • River

Short stretch of hard packed earth bridal way along the river Frome. Gates at either end to negotiate
