View of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo

Highlight • Viewpoint

Although the Three Peaks are still a long way away, in the valley they appear to be within reach.

Passo Valparola – Ju de Valparola

Highlight • Mountain Pass

A beautiful pass that takes you up to 2,192 meters. To the south is the Falzarego Pass, which is only a little lower and can be crossed from Cortina d'Ampezzo as well as from Caprile.

The road to San Cassiano leads north. A nice descent is guaranteed.

Lake Braies north shore

Highlight • Lake

Lake Braies has a unique location in the middle of the Braies Dolomites and in the northern part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. The geological origin of the "Pearl of the Dolomite Lakes", as the emerald green lake is often called, is due to the creation of a dam through a mud flap.

Lake Braies also plays a role in the world of legends, because it was said that you could reach the underground realm of the Fanes by boat. The gateway to the underworld was at the southern end of the lake, where the imposing Seekofel (2,810 m) dominates the lake. It is not for nothing that this summit of the Braies Dolomites, coveted by mountaineers, bears the name "Sass dla Porta", meaning Torberg. Lake Braies is also the starting point for numerous mountain tours in the area and the Dolomite high-altitude trail no. 1 starts here. From the surrounding mountains you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake.

The only drawback: the lake is a very popular tourist destination. Visually beautiful, you won't find the tranquility of the mountains here.
