The pass road has it all, but is accompanied by the view of the one mega awesome! Little going on and above is the opportunity to stop. The descent to Olang is steep and technically demanding, as switchbacks follow a few times directly on steep tracks. The surface is ok, but has some potholes.

“The Furkel” is a 1,789 meter high mountain pass in the Dolomites. It connects the towns of Olang in the Pustertal and St. Vigil in Enneberg in South Tyrol and thus also marks the historical language border between German and Ladin-speaking areas in the Dolomites. The 19 kilometer long pass road, with an average gradient of 12%, is a highlight for racing bike fans and has often been part of the Giro d'Italia. It is also part of the Transalp route, on which the Alps can be crossed by bike. The pass is also open in winter.
