This route is simply wonderful - lots of shade, the Hammersee, the Brücklsee, Murner See and many beautiful villages with the rivers Naab and Schwarzach. 👍🙋🏻♂️🚵
The Schwarzenfeld mirror carp The Schwarzenfeld fish ponds have been a focus of fish farming in the Upper Palatinate for centuries. At the end of the 19th century, Georg Weber (then manager of the Schwarzenfeld Castle) managed to create a particularly tasty fish by crossing a Franconian and a Bohemian mirror carp. In 1902 and 1904 he received honorary awards in Vienna and Nuremberg. It was even offered as a delicacy on the Titanic's menu. Due to its slow growth, however, the specialty has not been able to establish itself permanently. So nowadays we have to make do with the common mirror carp. But we could also enjoy a Danube, scale, Zeil or naked carp.
44,000 km - it works! Or "you can keep up with the old one!" Without a software update or customer service, the 2nd generation Bosch Performance Line motor is still working perfectly 8 years and four months after I bought my trekking bike. No suspicious bearing noises or plastic gears and not a single freewheel driver has failed! I must have got hold of a fairly stable unit by chance. Only once did a broken display cable cause problems. Of course I'm worried about the high mileage. A defect will definitely come along at some point. So when I go on tours far away from where I live, I use my new "old woman's bike". As long as the old motor works, I won't touch it. If something goes wrong, it won't be the end of its life yet. First I'll try to repair it myself and if that doesn't help, I'll have it overhauled for around €300. Then it should come to life again, because everything that can wear out will be replaced.
A lot on old railway lines. First along the Schwarzach. Lots of rest benches. There are official cycle paths on the banks of Hammersee and Murner See.
Sunday tour in dream weather to the beautiful Oberpfälzer river and lake country. Start 🛫 was the commuter parking lot 🅿️ Schwarzenfeld and on the Schwarzachtal cycle path along the Schwarzach, it was far away from busy streets, in places on the old railway line Nabburg ↔️ Neunburg vorm Wald. There was nothing else to see in Neunburg 🧐 except for a huge construction site in the city center, there was really dead pants there I had hoped for more. So we continued towards the end of the town, there was a small, inconspicuous bistro by the wayside where we had a coffee ☕ and a scoop of ice cream 🍦 😋 Of course we also studied the menu, there's plenty to eat for a small budget ‼️but unfortunately we had another dinner date. We continued on the old railway line 🚂 Rötz ↔️ Bodenwöhr to the brewery Gasthof Jacob there was super delicious pumpkin cream 🎃 soup and carp 😋 for the main course. Afterwards we practice Brückl and Murner See, we started our way home again to Schwarzenfeld 🏁 to the commuter place 🅿️ https://www.relive.cc/view/vE6JXm9grxv
Today we took a leisurely cycle ride along the Schwarzach to Neunburg vorm Wald and through the Upper Palatinate Lake District. The first part of the tour runs from Wölsendorf to Zangenstein on the former railway line from Nabburg to Schönsee. This section of the route is also part of the Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail. The rest of the route to Neunburg vorm Wald then mainly runs along small side roads. Neunburg vorm Wald with its beautiful historic old town is actually worth a visit in its own right. From Neunburg to Bodenwöhr the route then continues on the former railway line that led from Bodenwöhr to Rötz. From there the route leads past the Murner See through the Upper Palatinate Lake District back to the starting point. All in all a scenically varied and relaxed tour that also has a lot to offer for those interested in history, right up to the recent past. 👍👍
This route is not too difficult for traditional cyclists either, as there are only two significant climbs to overcome. The section along the Schwarzach to Neunburg v.W. in particular offers a lot of variety and delights with its beautiful buildings. After Neunburg v.W., the route continues on a beautiful and shaded cycle path towards Bodenwöhr, after which the route becomes a little more monotonous and often leads along a busy road. It is not until you reach the Upper Palatinate lake district that there is something interesting to see again, with the Murner Lake stretching out far into the landscape. The flat remaining section of the tour, along the gently flowing Naab, rounds off the ride.
