This route was planned by komoot.
The Sulzbacher Mtb has yellow signs with a black arrow. It is easy to ride and has a good balance between trails, forest paths and technical demands. Unfortunately, there were log haulers on the paths in two places. In photos 20/21 and 45. Great weather, great round!
Just a short ride today – so it's a good time to take a closer look at the Sulzbach MTB Club's circuit. The Schweinheim Forest is a nature trail El Dorado for me💚, so I was curious to see what awaited us just around the corner...and what might reveal something new to me. There were plenty of trails, but also quite a few gravel roads, which was a shame, because there's a great narrow path lurking around almost every bend. I found the few trail uphills a bit unfortunate, as they were steep, especially at the start, and sometimes quite impassable. Very nice and typical of this area are the many rooty and sandy nature trails, which are great even after heavy rain or in winter without sinking into the mud. The finisher's drinks were held at the very nice Ellis Gartenwirtschaft.
I drove about 2/3 of the way. FYI...a few signs are missing, but they will be renewed in a timely manner. There is a tree on the path, which will soon be removed by the community.
Today in glorious weather in the Spessart - a tour by Chris through some well-known and much new territory. First of all: The Obernauer Forest, where I've ridden 50% of the trails - always cool and not exhausting. Unfortunately, the Sulzabcher MTB Club circuit was 70% wide forest highways with a few short trail sections (combined more by sight) and three steep climbs, otherwise rather easy and fast to drive. As I said - a few detours away from the official route then increased the proportion of trails. The highlight was the suspension bridge over the "gorge" - which is not on the route. So today a lot of km, a few meters in altitude and a moderate proportion of trails. This has to get better.
