Ribčev Laz and Lake Bohinj

Highlight • Lake

Actually, if you go to Bohin, you can't miss it, as the main road will take you directly there. Once at Ribčev Laz, you will have to decide what to do next. If you came to Bohinj just for a day-long visit, then you are probably limited to three "must do" attractions:
(1) The Old Stone Bridge and Church, at the Eastern end of Lake Bohinj. This is the most iconic, post-card-picture attraction of the entire lake area and everyone goes there; (2) The Savica Fall, at te oposite end of the lake. Don't expect a Niagara, but in early spring, when the snows are melting, it's impressive enough (many steps up, up, up, though!), and finally - on a CLEAR(!) day -
(3) The Vogel Cable-Car. Breathtaking views of Northern Julian Alps at 1570 meters (and the ride itself is a bit breathtaking, too).
You need to be in a decent shape and way more determined to try including a full-circle hike around the lake (ca. 3 hrs; decent footwear required!), but if you are, I'd certainly recommend it.

Lake Bohinj

Highlight • Lake

Lake Bohinj, Slovenia
An oasis of peace and unspoiled nature in the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park.
Bohinj is a heavenly valley in the heart of the Julian Alps. Lake Bohinj lies in the heart of Triglav National Park, one of the oldest national parks in Europe. Untouched alpine pastures and mighty peaks rise above Slovenia's largest natural lake.

The camp at Bohinjsko jezero (Woichener Lake) is located in the heart of the Triglavski Narodni Park (Triglav National Park) in the Julian Alps.
Great starting point for many hikes. The location is perfect for relaxing and recharging your batteries. You can camp right by the lake, where you can also swim and paddle.
Highly recommended!
