Beautiful lake in the heart of the mountains. Swimming possible.

...regarding Günther's words and description...yes, the trail isn't cleared for mountain bikes...BUT...the sign is only visible from the side he was riding on 😉.
We came the other way, and there's no prohibition sign there (I've had this happen to me a few times with the signs here 😅).
The trail itself starts from Bohinij as a fairly wide gravel path, then there's a tiny carrying section through a dry stream bed, and then it becomes beautifully blocked and rooty.
It's best to test it out in the early morning or evening, when there aren't as many swimmers on the trail.
      Have fun biking 🤗.

2 weeks ago we circumnavigated the Wocheiner See in a clockwise direction. With the MTBs. The starting point was the parking lot at the climbing rock near the bridge over the lake outlet. We walked the distance back to the campsite on the sidewalk, because that way we could avoid the busy road. Then over the bridge that leads over the tributary and past nice little houses that you can also rent. Then there is a big sign that says you have no place on the further hiking trail with MTBs. We asked someone in English how serious this is. The answer was more like turning around. Since we always push or carry our MTBs on some sections of our tours, we tried it anyway. The hiking trail can be partially managed by driving and then again by pushing. However, we then came to an area where trees lay all over the place due to wind throws and further progress was quite difficult. A route for bringing the forestry vehicles was a small relief - but driving on it was sometimes challenging. But in the end we made it, jumped into the still-cold lake to refresh ourselves and were happy to have mastered a not-so-easy tour once again.
